How superbilling works
In-Network Visit
When you visit a healthcare provider, such as a doctor or therapist, they document the services provided to you, including procedures, diagnoses, and any treatments. At this point, this date of service (DOS) is submitted by the provider's office to an insurance company for them to review and determine a reimbursement payment which gets paid directly to the healthcare provider.
Out-Of-Network Visit (requiring superbill)
When you visit a healthcare provider, such as a doctor or therapist, they still document the services provided to you, including procedures, diagnoses, and any treatments. However, instead of billing the insurance company for each DOS the provider's office creates a ledger for the entire case (all of the visits you attend). This ledger gets combined with multiple required forms which we provide you to submit to your insurance company for reimbursement. This payment gets paid directly to you if your insurance company proceeds with reimbursement.
Payment at Time of Service
You pay for the services received at the time of visit.
Our cash pay rate is $120 for the initial evaluation and $80 for each follow-up visit.
Submission
Our billing team will assist you with any questions or issues that may arise during your submission process of the superbill. Please understand that our office with in-network visits will occasionally get reimbursement denials. It is possible that your insurance might deny reimbursement of your superbill.
Successful Reimbursement
Once the insurance company processes and approves the claim, they send you a reimbursement check for the approved amount, or they may apply the reimbursement directly to your deductible or co-insurance.
Out-of-Network Reimbursement
It's important to note that if the healthcare provider is out-of-network (meaning they don't have a contract with your insurance company), the reimbursement amount may be lower, and you may be responsible for paying the difference between the billed amount and the reimbursed amount.
***It is not gauranteed that the insurance will reimburse you.***
